Sunday Morning Pancakes
Tim Livingstone, a volunteer from Sandy Springs, wanted to help with Bible Study on sunday mornings, but his skills were not in story-telling, but in cooking.
"I'm not good with stories, but I love to cook, so I thought I could make pancakes on Sunday morning," Tim says.
Pancakes are good anytime, but at Melrose apartments, they are a Sunday morning staple.
"We use pancakes to draw people here than we give them the gospel."
Every Sunday morning at 11:00 you will find Tim cooking up a batch of pancakes while people come in to eat and play games. By 11:45 the tables are backed up and a worship time begins with songs, prayer, crafts, and a Bible story. Since adding pancakes to our list of activities, attendance has doubled at Melrose. Furthermore, several have made commitments to Christ.
According to pastor Jon Huebner, "They come for the food, but they leave with a new life."
